As we approach the 3 year anniversary of adding our magnificent Bendigo winery at Big Hill to our portfolio, we’re reflecting upon what it took to get to where we are, and what a journey it has been! It was August 2021 when St. Anne’s Winery Bendigo opened, and we couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved.
As we’ve settled into the new year, we’re delighted to share some updates from St. Anne’s Winery Bendigo! Pour yourself a glass, find a comfy spot, and dive into what’s happening at our vineyard & beyond.
- Harvest Highlights
The vineyard has been buzzing with activity recently as we’ve just begun to harvest our grapes for the season! Bendigo grows a number of varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. Fun Fact: Our location in the rolling granite hills of Ravenswood and the cooler climate in the area give the fruit a unique depth and complexity – perfect for deeply structured red wines.
You may never see the harvest happening – first of all, it’s all done overnight when the temperature drops below 15 degrees. We also pick our grapes quite quickly using a machine, so it can actually be completed in a few hours. From harvest, the fruit is all taken to our Winery in Echuca to be processed. Not long after, they’re bottled into our award-winning wines & could be poured into your glass back in Bendigo within months.
2. Private Functions & Events at the Vineyard
Our beautiful winery could be the backdrop for your next special event! Whether you’re gathering colleagues, hens, friends or family, St. Anne’s Winery Bendigo has a number of event spaces across our sprawling picturesque property – indoor and outdoor, small or large, casual or formal – that are perfect for your next gathering.
Our most recent project is our fully renovated Big Shed – and now optimized with its own fully equipped full kitchen and bathroom facilities! Under a romantic canopy of vines but protected from the weather, its surrounding view is a picturesque glimpse into the raw beauty of Bendigo and with granite paved floors, side stage & large capacity, it’s the ideal space for hosting those most important to you.
Our large dining room is ideal for corporate functions, with a maximum capacity of 120 seated and fully equipped with wifi, a projector and on-site Chef. Even if your event is smaller, or more casual, the perfect space could simply be the next room over. Quite literally. You could also select our covered Back Deck, and enjoy the breathtaking view over our Shiraz Vineyards.

3. Dining Experiences
Speaking of events, we’ve introduced a new era of events at St. Anne’s Winery Bendigo! From our smash hit Pop-Up Lunches and our special occasion set menus, to our weekly Pizza Sundays, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Our recent events have included markets, craft workshops with local makers, even athletic events in partnership with Athletics Victoria!
